Description
Character: Morgana Pendragon
Series: BBC Merlin
Debut: Otakon 2012
Photo:
Occasion: Otakon Sunday
Note:
I'll start with the jewelry:
The "crown" is wire with red beads strung along it. It's secured to my head by bobby pins through little metal rings on either side.
The necklace is two chain additions I found at Michael's and hooked together with pliers (fun fact: on of the loops broke in the hotel room, so I replaced it with a safety pin. See if you can spot it). I then hand stitched the chain to either side of the dress.
The belt is a string of fake leaves from Michael's that I painted gold with floral spray. Jaypoy was kind enough to glue the fern branches into the band and attach the twist ties that hold the belt together.
The shoes I bought from a thrift store for Shadow Rise, last year.
The dress is a really nice satin - the same as the inner kimono for Butterfly Yuuko. It's just two pieces, plus a little lining that I used to make the triangle neckline without having to hem it, so I was able to draw out the pattern on the fabric based on my measurements. There's an invisible zipper along one side seam.
Also I did the sewing for this in literally two hours before driving to Otakon. Hahahaha oops.
